Identify a patient case scenario that involves an actual or potential red flag. Ideally this will be a patient that is being treated in the facility that you are currently working, but could be a patient from one of your past clinical rotations or one that your clinical instructor has seen in the past. HIPAA rules apply and as such there should be no utilization of patient or clinical staff names. Your paper and presentation should include a very limited amount of generic material about the diagnosis; this is not a research project on a diagnosis but a case study on your patient. The material should focus specifically on the history, diagnosis and treatment of the case you selected.
The assignment has both a written paper and oral presentation:
Written paper – 750 word minimum, single spaced, font size 12. This is a clinical case study, not an English paper, so descriptive terminology should be avoided unless it is important to the red flag scenario.
Oral presentation – 8 minute minimum/12 minute maximum presentation utilizing appropriate visual media. Actual images from the patient are not required, but may be utilized with appropriate consent from both the patient and the clinical facility
Your paper/presentation should include items such as:
Which regulalation summarizes dod's implementation of the hipaa privacy rule issued by the department of health and human services?

• What makes each topology different from other topologies?
• What types of use make the topologies the best choice for the organization?

Include a minimum of two outside sources, other than your course texts.
Format your paper consistent with APA guidelines.
Bobby Langdon is the current president of Acme General. It is a 300-bed hospital serving a community of 70,000 people. He has just completed a meeting with the hospital administrator, Susy Miller. The meeting was called to address to find an acceptable solution to an apparant conflict between Ms. Miller and the chief of the Bariatric Program, Dr. Kincaid. The problem: The Bariatic Program manager is scheduling the various surgeries in such a way that the providers do not feel they can adequately perform these complicated procedures. They also feel there isn't proper time allowed between procedures to set up the surgical suite for the next case. The providers feel that the scheduling issues are resulting in poor patient outcomes. It has also been pointed out that the program manager shows favoritism toward some of the providers and allows them more time in the OR and between cases. The problem escalated when Dr. Kincaid fired the program manager after numerous complaints from providers, staff, and patients. The manager talked to Ms. Miller who over-ruled the doctor. She cited that non-clinical staff could not be fired by the program director. After reading this scenario, use the information you have gleaned from your research and the required readings to answer the following questions. 1) Identify and discuss at least 3 types of conflict found in a healthcare setting. 2) What type of conflict is represented in this scenario? (Justify your response.) 2) What is the potential impact on the Bariatric Program and the organization? (Discuss at least three) 3) What are some potential solutions? Which one is the best considering all the facts that have been presented? 4) What will likely be the reaction of Ms. Miller, Dr. Kincaid, and the program manager when a resolution is decided
An important goal of Healthy People 2020 is to reduce health disparities in the United States. Formulate a discussion on this issue. Your paper should address:
1. The definition of "Health Disparities."
2. Differences in health indicators of various ethnic and racial groups in the United States.
3. Potential causes for these observed differences.
4. List possible ways to improve the health of underserved populations.
Background Info: Public health priorities can change significantly between regions of the world and sometimes between individual countries within a specified region. Most of the developing countries are faced with major problems associated with infectious diseases, injuries, population growth, migrations, and rural-urban shifts. In these countries the interaction of infection, malnutrition, and population growth exacerbates the growing public health problems. These problems are further affected by culture, illiteracy, and significant environmental problems.
Assignment: Choose a developing country and create an agenda for enhancing public health for that country. Select between eight and 10 categories and prioritize them; provide a paragraph or two justifying the particular ranking you give each category (remember to present appropriate data to support your selections).
